APUS Projects
APUS currently has three student-oriented research groups in the Space Studies program: Supernovae Search, Exoplanet Search, and Spirulina in Space. Each group provides hands-on experience for students with real data from the university's telescope, along with various open-source astronomy programs to analyze that data. Additionally, students can conduct individual research using the school's resources for class assignments/projects. Special skills needed for a successful career in astronomy are gained here, such as data analysis, effective communication, and teamwork. Check out some of our student's work under Monthly Space Topics, which contributes to their value as scientists.
